The UAE is arming militants in Libya in gross violation of the UN embargo, new photos published on social media on June 18 have revealed. The photos of a Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system mounted on German-made MAN SX 45 trucks just arriving in Libya were purportedly taken at Jafra Air Base and the town of Gharyan, a territory under the control of the Libyan National Army (LNA).

According to open source data, only the UAE’s army has 50 Pantsir-S1 systems in service mounted on Man SX45 vehicles.

The Libyan National Army (LNA) is advancing towards Tripoli in an attempt to take the capital from forces aligned with the internationally recognized Government of National Accord (GNA).
